PIL Spring Concert Series: Áine Minogue

Monday, February 147:00—8:30 PMSutton RoomMain Library82 Main Street, Peabody, MA, 01960

Join us on February 14th to kick off our Winter/Spring Concert Series here at PIL with Áine Minogue! She will play a show in celebration of Valentine’s Weekend and in celebration of February, the month that honors Brigid of Ireland, goddess and Saint.

Áine has done extensive research into old Celtic traditions and has unearthed some unusual and haunting selections, as well as having written some original tunes.

The show will celebrate love in all its forms, from romantic love, with such selections as “Buachaill Ón Éirne” (The Boy From Ireland), a song of marriage proposal; to music that reflects love of nature, like “Sliabh na mBan,” which means “The Mountain of Women,” a beautiful air named after a mountain in Áine’s home County of Tipperary.
